15: Nick Borrelli, Marine Corps Officer, Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and Ocean Therapy Program
Nick Borrelli is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.
While attending school, he was a member of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC). In 2004, Nick was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer and served as an infantry officer, eventually reaching the rank of Captain.
While in the Marine Corps, Nick was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and then again in 2007. While in Iraq, he served with the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, and was a Rifle Platoon Commander and Rifle Company Executive Officer for those deployments.
In 2010, Nick went back to school and attended the University of Southern California where he earned a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on Mental Health.
In 2011, he joined the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation as a graduate level intern with the University of Southern California. Nick first started volunteering sporadically with the foundation and then began working with them on a more consistent basis.
Last summer, he became the Clinical Director for the foundation after the sudden and tragic passing of his mentor, Kevin Sousa.
Nick is also a Human Performance Coach with the Department of Energy’s Human Performance Analytics team and is a Licensed Social Worker and Associate Clinical Social Worker.
Nick and his wife Agatha live in Southern California with their two children.
The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation is a non-profit that provides Ocean and Surf Therapy to the USMC, WWBN, West LA VA and at-promise youth groups throughout Los Angeles.
